Orbetella is an historic town stretching out into the lagoon in the beautiful area of Tuscany known as the Maremma. The Hotel Sole has an enviable position right in the heart of the historic centre of Orbetello in a traffic free zone. From the hotel you can step straight out into streets lined with bars, restaurants and shops. Car parking passes are issued for the car park alongside the lagoon which is just a short walk from the hotel.

The Hotel has 18 rooms over three floors, all with en-suite shower rooms, hairdryer, TV, air conditioning and heating. There is a lift to all floors and 24 hour access with a night porter on duty when the reception desk is closed. The Hotel Castello Monticello was built in 1920 as a private residence for a family returning home to the island of Giglio from America. The house was sold and turned into a hotel in 1965.

In 2005, the hotel was completely restructured and renovated under the direction of Mr Gabrielle Rum. Today, the hotel is famous not only for its wonderful position and delicious restaurant, but also for the politeness and friendliness of its staff, most of whom originated from the island.
